24" barrel in caliber .44-40. Manufactured 1889. Offered is a fine, clean, all original .44 caliber Third Model 1873 that features full octagon barrel; full magazine; knife blade front sight; semi-buckhorn rear sporting sight; blued finish with case colored frame, lever and hammer; walnut stocks; and rifle butt. The barrel and tube are a smooth brown patina. Frame retains 15-20% case colors, balance having darkened with traces on hammer. Walnut stocks are excellent, all original, proud to metal. Has a perfect action. Super nice bore. Extremely clean case colored .44 caliber 1873. Factory letter confirms that this rifle was shipped on October 22, 1888 just as this rifle remains today with the case hardened frame listed.
