The first rifle is a Marlin special order Model 1893 rifle in caliber .30-30 with a 26" barrel. This was a special order rifle featuring half octagon barrel, half magazine, sporting front sight, Marbles full buckhorn rear sight, walnut stock, and Marlin logo shotgun butt. Wood (refinished of replaced) is near mint. Al metal has been refinished. Frame is a mix of blue with case hardened colors, very dark. Barrel is a gun metal grey. Strong rifled bore. Fine action. Worthy of quality restoration. The second rifle in this lot is a Mossberg Model 472SBA carbine in .30-30 Winchester with an 18" barrel. Features full magazine, blued finish, walnut stock, smooth steel buttplate, with sling swivels. Barrel retains 80% original blue finish, starting to thin, with ramp front sight, sporting rear, and two barrel bands. Frame retains approximately 90% original blue finish. Top filler screw missing. Walnut stock are excellent with no cracks or chips. Very nice grain. Strong bore and perfect action. Resembles Marlin Model 336.
