The first carbine is a rare Kittredge & Co., Ohio marked “Frank Wesson” two trigger military carbine. These were sold to state militias during the Civil War to the sates of Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, and Missouri. Features a 24” barrel in caliber .44 rimfire. Barrel is octagon with a military carbine rear sight. Sling swivel on left side of frame. Metal is a dark brown patina. Original wood is very good. Has the initials “E.M.F.” carved on right side. There is a period repair at wrist due to crack. Fine working order. Strong clean bore. The second carbine is a Sharps & Hankins Model 1862 manufactured from 1862-65. .52 rimfire caliber with a 23-7/8” barrel. No leather covering. Barrel is dark brown patina with salt and pepper finish, as is frame. Deep pitting on lever. Very good original stock is not cracked and has original sling swivel. Working order.
