French. Circa 1890. Pressed bisque flange head with blue paperweight glass eyes, finely painted brows and lashes, closed mouth, pierced ears, gray wool wig, jointed arms and legs, and bisque hands. Punch style torso contains clockwork mechanism. Dressed in satin two-tone costume with metallic trim and velvet shoes. Some wear to clothing. Holding later German bisque head child with five-piece composition body and dressed as a cook. Polichinelle figure is suspended from a modern base, when operated figure moves arms and legs.
