German. Circa 1900. Clown trainer with bisque flange head, heavily molded features and clown decoration with painted eyes and smiling mouth. Wearing original polka dot costume. Standing on a rotating platform above round floral paper covered base with three gilt wood feet containing wind up mechanism. As the figure rotates it is followed by a dapple gray painted papier mache pony with mohair mane and tail on a metal wheel. Some soiling to and wear to clothes and paper on base.
Condition: (Very Good).
