Barrel is 20”, caliber is .44 WCF. Manufactured in 1907. The Winchester model 1892 saddle ring carbine in .44 caliber is one of the most desirable of all Winchester carbines. This model is standard and all original. Features full round barrel, full magazine, two barrel bands, classic post front sight, folding saddle ring carbine sight, blued finish, walnut stocks. Has the original saddle ring and stud. The barrel retains approximately 85% original factory blue finish with balance blending to a smooth patina. Top and base of frame are gun metal grey from carry. 40% of original blue on loading gate. Traces of color on hammer. Has the standard carbine butt plate. Walnut stocks are very good, proud to metal never refinished with usual minor hunting dings. The forearm forward of the barrel band has a small stress crack which could easily be repaired. Strong clean rifle bore with some light frosting. Perfect action. Far above average .44 carbine. Factory research: shipped June 25, 1907; .44 caliber carbine.
