The double-breasted French tunic of black wool. Inside lining of tails and part of body in red, the remainder in buff and front quilted. Fitted for epaulettes but none present, Neck label reading: "Terrenere Maitre Tailleur 1EP De Ligne. J. Chanteau, Le Mans", French costumer stamp in lining. Eighteen brass buttons on front. Tails embroidered with bullion five-pointed stars. Showing wear, repairs and scattered moth damage,
