A most visually appealing toy, in real life this vehicle would have traversed the streets of New York City during the late 19th or early 20th century. The coach itself is French, made for the American market, and most likely had papier mache horses. At some point in time, perhaps with age, the original horses deteriorated and were replaced with a set of early American handpainted tin horses. The proportions are correct and regardless this is still quite an impressive toy! The coach is handsomely painted in a deep brown with yellow highlighting to the railings, filigree, benches, etc. Seated on the upper benches are some papier mache figures of more recent vintage. Overall a nice presentation in good to very good condition with some typical wear/paint loss.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 21 -1/4" L.
LARGE EARLY EUROPEAN HANDPAINTED TIN OMNIBUS.
