8" barrel in .44 percussion caliber. This martially marked Colt 1860 Army single action revolver was manufactured in 1863. It is standard in all respects with blued barrel, blue rebated cylinder with naval scene, blue back strap, brass trigger guard, and one piece walnut grips with inspector stamp on left side. All matching numbers except wedge which is not numbered. Inspector stamp "W" on top of grip strap and bottom of trigger guard, "F" on barrel, and "FC" on cylinder. Cylinder has a fine scene. Barrel retains approximately 30% of factory blue mixing with patina and age spotting. Cylinder has fine blue in rebated area. Back strap is a blue-brown patina. Brass is untouched. Some fine blue still on the screws. Traces of case colors on hammer and frame. Original grips are excellent with a fairly strong cartouche. Action and lock up are perfect. Strong clean bore. This revolver is cut for shoulder stock. Overall a very fine, all original condition, mid-Civil War .44 revolver.
