Both of these rifles were a World War I bring-backs with no import marks and came to us with a large lot of personal effects of World War I soldier of whose belongings are in this auction. The first rifle is dated 1916, serial No. 1745, stamped "Oberspree Kornbusch & Co.". Serial No. 1745 on barrel, frame, bolt release, stock, trigger guard, floorplate, guard screws, and both barrel bands. Serial No. 1967 on bolt and safety. Barrel is a soft brown patina. Frame is gun metal grey with age spots. Has original matching numbered roller coaster rear sight. Original sling swivels and period correct bayonet and metal scabbard. Wood was "duffel cut" under rear band, expertly done. Typical World War I bring-back. Good bore and action. The second gun has serial No. 1090 on barrel, frame, roller coaster sight, bolt, safety, bolt release, stock, floorplate, trigger guard, screws, and both barrel bands. Condition is similar to the other rifle, except there are some cracks to the left side of wood stock that need to be repaired. Comes with period bayonet and metal scabbard. Very good bore and action. Identical duffel-cut.
