The relaxed, yet regal posture of this prone lion is a testament to the skill of the anonymous sculptor. The lion's form naturally breaks the plane of the integrated, stipled, rectangular plinth and lends another level of realism to this fine bronze. A brassy patina was chosen to keep it so vibrant. The consignor claims that this sculpture is from the original MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Our research could neither confirm nor deny this, but it certainly does have the quality and form to make this believable.
