This brass elephant sculpture, with the up-stretched trunk, is in the classic posture for good luck. And while our research couldn't confirm or deny the consignor's claim that this is from the Casbah Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, it certainly has the style, scale, and quality to make that believable. The Casbah was built in 1963, changed into Queen of Hearts Casino in 1990, and was finally destroyed in 2010 to make room for the City Hall. The condition of the brass patina is widely variable. There are two areas of unfortunate damage on the elephant's right side. There is a 6" seam break just behind the right tusk and a more substantial 18" seam break along the back of the right ear.
Condition: (Good - Very Good).
Item Dimensions: 88"H. x 68"W. x 44"D.
