24" barrel in .30-06 caliber. This Rock Island U.S. Model 1903 was originally built in 1910. The receiver was used on a typical World War II rebuild. Barrel is stamped "RIA" and dated 4-11 with Ordnance bomb. Has a re-worked rear sight, swept-back bolt, parkerized finish, World War II era straight stock with "F.J.A." cartouche on left side (Frank Atwood), World War I smooth buttplate, World War II replacement forearm. Wood has a couple of hairlines cracks at the rear wrist. Has all milled parts. Receiver does have some age spots. Pronounced rifling with a TE reading of 2 and ME reading of 2+. Rifle also comes with a period correct sling with brass frogs.
