Round 44” barrel with bayonet, rectangular bayonet stud and traces of proofs still visible at breech in .69 caliber smoothbore. Flat lock plate stamped with “D” forward of hammer, converted using original flintlock cock with portion of a percussion hammer attached between the jaws where flint would have been. Typical steel Charleville furniture, three steel barrel bands, sling swivels missing. Partially figured full-length walnut stock marked with “D” inspection mark on left side of buttstock, steel ramrod. Dark brown patina overall with scattered areas of pitting and scattered marks from use on stock.
