7-1/2" barrel in .38 centerfire caliber. This revolver was manufactured in 1868 as a .38 percussion revolver. It is a six shot single action converted to fire self contained cartridges in the early 1870's. Has all matching numbers except the wedge which is not marked. Barrel has approximately 70% of the reapplied blue finish with sharp legends and a bit of salt and pepper on right side muzzle. Navy scene on cylinder remains at 50% retaining nearly 85% reapplied finish. Frame retains 75% of the reapplied blue finish. Trigger guard and back strap retain 75% original plating. Original one piece walnut grips retain generous amounts of original finish. Indexes fine, strong rifling with usual black powder abrasions.
