This life-sized Steiff bear is in the begging position, meaning he is standing on his hind legs with his two front limbs pointing upward. He has a distinctively hefty, youthful, and playful appearance. This example is made from very long, shaggy, brown woven fur. His muzzle and front paw pads are made from short tan plush. His face comes to life with brown and black pupil eyes, a dimensional leatherette nose, and an open, felt lined mouth. He has two black steel rods extending from the back of his feet in order to stabilize and help balance him. This Steiff display piece appeared in the line from 1987-2003. The bear retains his oversized Steiff button and yellow ear flag as his Steiff IDs. Condition: As noted. The bear is in clean, very good to excellent condition with a small fabric tear on back of his left foot. Provenance: From a fine New England collection.

Condition: (Very Good - Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 60" x 37" x 36".
