Bird's the word with this great lot of unusual Steiff birds. The first is Steiff's lovely and realistic 11 inch tall Faky falcon. He is unjointed and made from tan and brown knitted plush fur which resembles feathers. His oversized feet are made from felt and are posable. Faky has enormous yellow felt backed black eyes. His face is detailed with a soft rubber beak and a yellow felt highlight. Faky was produced from 1979-1988 in this studio size only. He is complete with his button, yellow tag, and studio chest tag as his Steiff IDs. The second is Steiff's kiwi bird. The kiwi is 10 inches tall, standing, and made from woven brown fur. His legs are jointed (like giant drumsticks) and his feet are truly remarkable. They are made from tan fabric, are flexible, and are detailed with intricate airbrushing. His beak is about 4 inches long, soft stuffed, and is also finished with airbrushing. Kiwi was produced from 1995-1999 in this size only. Kiwi is complete with all IDs including an additional hangtag. Condition: As noted. Overall excellent to like new condition. Provenance: From a fine New England collection.
