What we have here is Steiff's fantastic life-sized Parrot. He measures 20 inches (without the tail) and about 33 inches with the tail. He is standing and made from mohair. His oversized feet are made from felt. His facial mask and beak area are made from a rubbery material. This tends to disintegrate over time, but this example only has a few light surface cracks and rubs. Parrot came in two main colors - red or blue; this is the blue version. This item was produced for one year only, in 1967. This example is complete with all IDs. This is the first Steiff studio parrot this cataloger has seen in person. Condition: As noted. Slight surface dust and light fading overall. Very good to excellent condition with a delightful presentation. Provenance: From a fine New England collection.
