Without a doubt, one of Steiff's most beloved rabbit patterns of all time! Here we have the almost largest version of Steiff's Niki Rabbit. He is 28 cm, five ways jointed, and made from mohair. Niki has peach felt footpads, mohair lined ears, brown and black pupil eyes, and a light pink hand embroidered nose. His smiling, open mouth is lined in peach colored felt. He retains many of his original clear whiskers. His little cotton tail is made from slightly longer mohair. This spring harbinger was manufactured in 14, 17, 22, 28, and 35 cm from 1951- 1964. This particular Niki is quite adorable and retains his raised script button and yellow ear tag as his IDs. Condition: As noted. Very good condition overall with just a slight touch of playwear and a small pink spot on mohair on the belly. Provenance: From the collection of long-time Steiff archivist Dick Franz.
