June 24-26 2016 Premier Toys, Dolls, Marbles & Figural Cast Iron
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2016
This pensive looking cub is made from blonde mohair and is five ways jointed. His small paw pads are made from tan felt; one hand pad has been stitched with a home style repair. His face is detailed with black shoebutton eyes and a faded black hand embroidered nose and mouth. His appearance and proportions suggest he was manufactured around 1910 or so, probably by an American firm. Condition: As noted. Mohair with wear, losses, and light repairs all commensurate with age. In good, clean condition overall. Provenance: From the collection of long-time Steiff archivist Dick Franz.
