Teddy is jointed 5-ways and made from short white mohair with no hand or foot pads or claw stitching. His particularly charming face is detailed with brown and black glass pupil eyes and a hand stitched brown nose and mouth. His long, narrow feet are typical to his period of production. Teddy’s rattle was made by inserting a hollow tube with beads into the bear’s torso and is still functional. His Steiff button and other IDs have been lost to time. Through the 1920s, Steiff occasionally created rattle versions of its most popular toys in their small size. Other examples include cats, rabbits and squirrels. Provenance: From a fine Connecticut collection. Condition: As noted. Minor mohair losses and light to moderate playwear. Otherwise very good.

Item Dimensions: 5" T.
1920S-ERA STEIFF WHITE MOHAIR RATTLE BEAR.
