.348 WCF caliber with a 24" barrel. Manufactured 1936. This rifle was manufactured in 1936, the first full year of production and exhibits the so-called "long tang" as it is referred to by collectors. Features include full round barrel, half magazine, ramp front sight, rear sight blank with scarce bolt peep sight, blue finish, pistol grip walnut stock with flutes, and checkered steel buttplate. Has the flat-cut crown. The barrel and magazine cap show traces of wear with one small mark on left side of barrel, still retains approximately 98% factory blue. Frame retains virtually all of its original factory blue with the only visible wear on loading gate (99%). Lever retains approximately 50% blue as does forend cap, with balance simply flaked to soft patina. The nose cap has the integral sling eye and buttstock has sling eye as well. Wood is near mint and proud to metal. Action is perfect. Bore is near mint. This is an extremely fine high condition first year rifle "long tang" with bolt peep that has seen very little use.
