.44-40 caliber with a 24" barrel. Manufactured 1886. Standard Model 1873 large bore features 24" full octagon barrel, full magazine, standard Winchester sporting front and rear sights, blue finish, walnut stocks, and rifle buttplate. All metal surfaces are a dark blue brown patina with the exception of some thinning on sideplates. Wood is very good, proud to metal, with no cracks, but usual impressions. Action is fine. Strong rifling with usual minor black powder abrasion. Overall, a fine old classic Model 1873 in the desirable .44 caliber.
