Underside of base impressed 1202/7. A similar model is illustrated in The House of Amphora, Richard Scott,pages 246-247 and in Monsters and Maidens, 1st edition, ByronVreeland, page 198.This item is also the exact height and background color of the one shown inHouse of Amphora, page 246. They just eliminated the gold in the applied roses.This might have been an attempt at the simple matte green glazes being usedin American art pottery at the time, perhaps for the American market. Similar examples are illustrated in House of Amphora, Richard Scott, p. 246-246, and in Monsters and Maidens, Collector’s Edition, Byron Vreeland, p. 404-405.
