5" barrel in .44-40 WCF caliber. The Navy Model was introduced in 1881 and all of the frames were produced prior to 1899. This revolver is chambered for the more popular .44-40 with the longer cylinder. Standard features include nickel plated finish, six shot, double action, blued trigger guard, case colored hammer and trigger, and black composite grips. All matching numbers. This revolver was returned to the factory as evidenced by the star on butt. Dates 1911 and 1926 are stamped inside grip frame and would indicated either factory refinish or repair. The left grip has a small chip on bottom. Action works fine both single and double action. Strong clean bore. As to finish, gun is a pleasing mix of factory nickel and brown patina, retaining approximately 50% factory finish.
