.455 caliber with a 6" barrel. Produced by Webley and Scott introduced in 1915. Became the standard service revolver for British officers during the first World War. This revolver has all matching numbers on frame, barrel, and cylinder with British proofs, no import stamp. Cylinder has not been cut. Has the original black composite grips and lanyard ring. It is a typical top break and has the dull military arsenal reapplied finish, of which approximately 75% still with most of the wear on the trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder. The backstrap is unit marked. Grips are excellent. Left panel is stamped with the letter "M". Functions perfectly both single and double action. Strong clean bore. Comes in a British proofed brown leather holster. It is obvious this gun was used in World War I and was refurbished for use in the second World War as well. Classic British service revolver.
