24" barrel in .30-06 caliber. This rifle was built in 1918. The barrel was replaced with a Sedgley USMC 9-41. The sights were changed to World War II style. Original World War I stock was retained and features two bolts, wide finger groove, and high hump hand guard. The wood has seen some serious use with lots of dings. Inspector marks ground off. Stress cracks at bottom. Bolt was replaced with swept bolt. Military finish applied over some pitting. Has a World War II era green canvas sling. ME reading '1' and TE reading '1'. Fairly typical World War II rebuild of a first World War rifle using the scarce USMC barrel.
