24" barrel in .44-40 WCF. This standard Winchester Model 1873 was manufactured in 1896. It is chambered for the most popular caliber of this model, the .44-40 WCF cartridge. Standard features include full round barrel, full magazine, original Winchester front and rear sporting sights, blued finished, case colored hammer and lever, walnut stocks, and rifle buttplate. This is an excellent example of what an untouched, honest, all original gun should look like. The barrel and tube are a mix of blue-brown patina with age spotting and razor sharp barrel legends. Left side of the frame retains approximately 40-50% of the original high polish factory blue with balance turning. Right side is nearly identical. There are traces of case colors on the sides of hammer. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, never touched, with original finish and no cracks or chips of any kind. Strong, near mint, rifled bore. Perfect action. A very fine example of a original 1873 Winchester in the most popular of calibers. Also comes in a solid leather English style carry case with strap.
