8" barrel in .44 percussion caliber. Approximately 32,000 of these revolvers were manufactured between 1863-1865. It is a six shot single action percussion revolver. The removal of the right frame screw allows the release of cylinder and the barrel and top strap tip forward on bottom hinge. The grips are walnut. Finish is blue. This was a very popular revolver during the Civil War. The left side of the frame is stamped Starr Arms Company, New York. All metal surfaces are a pleasing mix of blue-brown patina with some added finish on frame. It is a mix of numbers. The upper frame is numbered 42580 while the cylinder is numbered 35776. The original grips are shy to metal, have a pinned repair, a homemade brass buttplate, and swivel added. Cylinder indexes perfectly, strong visible rifling.
