8-1/2" barrel in .45 percussion smooth bore. Manufactured 1845 to 1852. Standard U.S. issue Military single shot smooth bore pistol dated 1847. Plate is stamped "U.S. H.ASTON" Manufactured in Middletown, Connecticut. Has full round barrel, swivel rod, single brass barrel band, small front sight blade, brass trigger guard, back strap and pommel, brass side plate. This pistol is 100% all original as issued. Barrel lock and hammer are silver grey patina with scattered salt and pepper finish. Brass is untouched and is dark patina. Walnut stock is excellent with small quarter inch hairline at left side plate. Sharp legends, fine action, very good bore, lovely attic find condition early U.S. Militia.
