This lot contains three stoneware pieces of pottery, two jugs and a bowl. The larger jug is a greyish-brown color with varying color in some areas. This jug has a small handle and the base of the jug is glazed. This jug is approximately 8 x 5-1/2 inches and is in good condition with some varying colors in the glaze. There are also some spots where the glaze has worn off showing the darker color of the clay. At the base and the opening of the jug, there are places where it has been chipped and where the glaze has been worn off. The smaller jug, in comparison to the other jug, is a lighter grey color with varying colors in the glaze. Like the larger jug, this jug also has a small handle, however it’s close to the neck of the jug that it connects with the opening. This jug is flat bottomed. This jug is approximately 7-1/4 x 4-1/4 inches and is also in good condition however it has some varying colors in the glaze and some spots where the glaze has worn off showing the darker color of the clay. At the base of the jug, there are places where it has been chipped and where the glaze has worn off. This spongeware mixing bowl’s base glaze color is a whitish cream with a brownish orange and blue glaze. These were the more popular colors for spongeware pieces. At the base of the interior, “IT PAYS TO MIX WITH BEN M. BAUS ST. CLOUD, WIS.” is written in blue glaze with a blue circle around that. The foot is unglazed and stamped, into the clay; on the base of the bowl is an "8". The bowl is approximately 8-1/4 x 4-1/2 inches. This bowl is in good condition, however there are some chips in the clay. Some of the chips are covered by the glaze and some are not. There is a small crack in the clay on interior of the base of the bowl where the "M" in Ben M. Baus is.
