Dated 1848. 36" mirror blade stamped "N.P. Ames Cabotville" and U.S. inspected stamped "W.D.". Perfect leather handle with wire wrap. Original leather washer. Inspector marks on pommel. Bright metal scabbard with double hanger and no rust or pitting. Classic Civil War saber.
