July 30th 2016 Premier Firearms Sale (20)
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 7/30/2016
This lot along with accompanying lots, were removed from an original B-29 Bomber. This plane became infamous during the Pacific campaign of WWII forever remembered as the type of plane that dropped the bombs on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Unlike the B-17 Bombers that saw service over Europe, the machine gun on a B-29 was actually detached and operated by use of this machine. It allowed the siting of Japanese Zeros. Has the burst triggers both left and right for twin guns. Has adjustment knobs to allow 90 degree sighting plain for enemy aircraft. This is the first of its type that we are aware of being for sale. The B-29 was relegated to weather and recognizance after the war and most were stripped and destroyed after their days of usefulness. These are rarely found anywhere outside of war museums. This item along with the accompanying lots pertain to the B-29 Bomber and would make a World Class Museum Display, impossible to replicate.
