This rifle was manufactured in Springfield Archery March 1941-June 1941. Barrel is dated SA June 1941 (proper) Has the proper early rear sight type 1 with flush nut rear sight screw. Bolt number- D28287-2SA (proper) Heat lot is J9A. Left side of the stock has the ordinance wheel and inspector marked S.A.GHS in a box on the left side of the stock this stands for Gilbert H Stewart November 1941-June 1942. Inside wrist is stamped with a "P" with serif's trigger guard is stamped C-46025-1-SA (correct). The trigger assembly is stamped D28290-2-SA (proper). The bore has a TE reading of 3 and has a ME reading of 2. The cast gas assembly stamped D-35449-SA. The barrel is blued. The frame is a matte blue. The trigger housing assembly is a matte blue. Stock has had some oil added but excellent, no cracks or chips. Has a 1943 dated sling. Exceptional early war M1 Garand.
