24" barrel in .30-06 caliber. This rifle was manufactured September '41 to December '41. Has the proper September 1941 barrel, proper type one flush nut rear sight, proper bolt stamped "D28287-2SA". Stock has the correct cartouche on left side stamped "S.A. G.H.S." (Gilbert Stewart November '41 to June '42) and is strong. Has the serif "P" is circle on wrist. TE reading of '1' and an ME reading of '2'. Correct trigger group stamped "D28290-5-SA". Proper trigger guard stamped "D-46025-3-SA". There is a "U" stamped on the end of the knob. Frame retains approximately 80% of the dark military phosphate finish, as does barrel. Trap assembly and front sight are gun metal grey. Stock is near mint. This is a true Pearl Harbor era M1 Garand, one of the nicest condition ones we have seen.
