24" barrel in .30-06 caliber. This rifle was manufactured in December '42 to March '43. Has the proper SA January 1943 barrel and correct box cartouche "S.A. F.McF" (Earl McFarland June '42 - July '43). Has the serif "P" proof on wrist. Correct bolt stamped "D28287-12-SA". Has the correct Lockbar type three rounded rear sight, correct trigger assembly stamped "D28290-12-SA". TE reading of '2' and an ME reading of '1'. Has a period tan canvas sling. Frame retains 95% of the green phosphate finish, as does barrel. This is an extremely nice early war M1 Garand.
