June 24-26 2016 Premier Toys, Dolls, Marbles & Figural Cast Iron
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/25/2016
This lot include a Steiff tail-moves-head dog, a vintage 1962 FAO Schwarz catalog, and a stamp featuring three popular Steiff characters from around 1913. The dog is about 7” tall. He is sitting, made from mohair, and has a tail-moves-head mechanism. Like many tail-moves-head examples, the mohair on the tail has been lost to time. His face and head are detailed with pert ears, tri-colored almond glass eyes, a pronounced “beard,” and a black hand-embroidered nose. He has black claws and a red collar, playfully decorated with Steiff buttons. Rattler retains his trailing “F” button and fully legible red ear tag as his Steiff IDs. Tail-moves-head Rattler was made overall in 8, 10, 14, 17, and 22cm from 1930-1942. Condition: As noted. In clean, good condition overall with playwear, thinning, and losses commensurate with age and nature of item. Ephemera in good condition. Provenance: From a fine Ohio collection.
Item Dimensions: 10 - 3/4" x 8 - 1/2".
