The top of the barrel is stamped "William H. Forker Meadville, Pennsylvania". Forker was a gunsmith born in 1798 and died 1899. This early air rifle consists of a 27-7/8" round iron barrel with small brass frame, walnut buttstock, and brass buttplate. This rifle needs some work. Stock is cracked. There are pieces missing at wrist. Piece missing at toe. Barrel is a mix of metal silver and brown patina with overall salt and pepper texture. Brass was cleaned at one time. Not working. First of this type of air rifle we have seen.
