8" barrel in .44 percussion caliber. This is a U.S. military issue, very popular during the Civil War. It features full octagon barrel, six shot, double action, percussion, blue finish, two piece walnut grips, and brass trigger guard. The military cartouche is visible on left panel but not readable. Flashes of original blue on frame, otherwise gun is a smooth, rich chocolate brown. Government inspectors marks can be found on barrel, frame, and cylinder. Indexes perfectly. Strong clean bore. Typical hammer marks near loading lever spring. Varnish loss to grips. Nice overall clean example of a popular Civil War big bore revolver.
