12 bore, Barrel lengths are 27-1/2". According to the factory letter, this shotgun was ordered from the Piccadilly shop on February 10, 1928. It is a 12 bore, side lock, ejector, model known as the Victor. It featured double triggers, conventional top lever and an automatic top safety. The forend has a push-down type fastener. Guns were regulated for No. 6 shot. Right barrel delivers a cylinder pattern, the left delivers an improved cylinder. This shotgun was manufactured for Mr. G.P. Metcalf at a cost of 100 Guineas. The barrels feature a scooped rib with light engraving at breech, single bead sight, mirror bores, approximately 95% blued with some thinning at breech. The action features intricate master engraving with the Cogswell & Harrison firm stamped on both sides and retains 20-30% original case colors. The deluxe, oil finished walnut stocks have the distinctive English straight grip stock with teardrop sides, extremely well executed fine checkering at wrist and forend. There is no butt plate, rather the butt has been checkered. There is a brass ID plaque at butt. The trigger guards, as well as all screws, are also finely engraved, all of which is done in a fine scroll, leaf and flower pattern. It has a 1-3/4" drop at comb and a 3" drop at heel. It has a 14-1/2" LOP to front trigger. Shotgun faces and locks up tight as new and relief lever centers at 6 o'clock. In addition, this shotgun comes with a complete set of six Riley tubes, with chokes, that once installed, will allow the user the 410, 28, 20 bore. A wonderful, best quality, English side lock double.
