4-1/2" barrel in .36 percussion caliber. Approximately 500 of these revolvers were manufactured in 1862 and 1863 in Middletown, Connecticut. They are rarely seen in today's market and never in unfired condition. This is arguably the finest condition example known in the hobby. The full octagon barrel retains approximately 90% of the brilliant factory blue finish with sharp legends. The loading lever retains virtually all of the brilliant case colors. The cylinder has the perfect patent stamp and all of the original nickels none of which show any wear. The cylinder still exhibits approximately 70% of the original fire blue finish. Left side of frame has traces of brilliant blue with the balance aged freckled and appears to have simply flaked. Right side of frame retains approximately 25-30% original factory blue with similar flaking. Back strap is grey patina as is front grip strap, bottom of frame has traces of blue. Traces of case colors on side of hammer and still bright on back. Strong clean bore. Indexes perfectly, has a spur trigger. You can plainly see that this gun was left outside as that is the portion of the cylinder that has flaked to a brown patina. This is referred to as a standard model and does not have the safety guard on frame. Very high condition extremely scarce Civil War revolver. Seldom seen and never in this condition.
