Two classics in one lot. The first gun is an 1893 slide action hammer shotgun which is fairly scarce on today's market due to the fact that Winchester offered owners of the Model 1893 a free trade-in so many of the 1893s were turned in for the all new Model 1897. This has resulted in making the 1893 a truly scarce shotgun in any condition. This example has survived in its all original configuration. Serial No. 11436 manufactured in 1895. Features a 30" barrel in 12 bore with single bead sight, 2-3/4" chamber, full choke. Has a very clean, shiny bore. Barrel has no dents. The frame approximately 30% of the original high polish blue, but for the most part the barrel, tube, and frame are basically a grey-brown smooth patina. Action is slick as new. The grooved walnut forend is excellent and not cracked. Walnut stock has the early round knob, is proud to metal, and has no cracks or major chips, but the grain at butt is starting to open. Very presentable attic condition, unmessed with Model 1893. The second gun is this lot is a Classic Winchester Model 94 Saddle Ring Carbine in .30-30 caliber. Serial No. 510661. Features a 20" barrel. The magazine has been shortened to button length and a ramp front sight has been added. Barrel has approximately 70% blue but does have freckling throughout. Has a single barrel band, sporting rear sight, saddle ring and stud, long walnut forend, and walnut buttstock. Forend is excellent and proud to metal. Frame is basically freckled brown patina. Buttstock is proud to metal with a chip at right wrist and rear tang screw replaced. The butt has been cut and a rubber recoil pad added during era of use, but is in excellent condition overall with no other cracks. Production is 1910 but the barrel is later and was replaced, which would explain the ramp front sight and sporting rear sight. Fine action. Strong bore with some minor abrasion. A pair of classic firearms.
