An exceptional example of the E.J. mold, this cabinet sized bebe has beautiful even bisque, large blue paperweight eyes, finely painted facial features and is on the proper straight waisted marked Jumeau body with its original finish. Marked on rear head: DEPOSE E.4 J. with typical artist red check marks. Dressed in a charming antique white cotton dress with embroidered flowers, antique shoes/socks and having a hat of newer vintage (not pictured). Overall very fine plus condition with no issues to the bisque head or composition body. The original skin wig over the cork pate is glued tight but head has been carefully examined and appears to be free of any hairlines/issues. According to the consignor her mom was an old time doll collector having purchased this doll approximately fifty years ago. The consignor was about 3-4 years old at the time, the doll was lacking a wig so the mother clipped her daughter's hair and had a professionally made wig for this doll. The original cork pate and skin wig cap is underneath this wig. Later on in life when her mom disposed of her doll collection the daughter insisted on keeping just this one doll which she has treasured for many years. As time passes and wanting to downsize the consignor decided to sell her treasured doll and is hoping that the new buyer will enjoy her as much as she did.
