Barrel length 24". Caliber .30-06. This is a scarce 1903 that was built between the wars. The barrel is dated SA1-32 with flaming bomb. All milled parts. Stock has a type 5 hand guard with wide groove two bolt stock stamped "SA-SPG" in box with P on outside (Samuel P. Green 1936-1949). The rear sight has a Type 3 large adjusting knob with a Type 4 small knob. Has a fine bore with a ME reading of 1. Has a block "P" in a circle on wrist. Fine walnut stock with minor usual abrasions. All metal retains approximately 95% or better of the original military style dark phosphate finish. Has a swept N.S. "Nickel Steel" bolt. Has a type 4 finely checkered buttplate with trap. Has an original sling with brass frogs. The 1930s built Springfield are considered some of the finest bolt action rifles manufactured in the United States. Rifle features scarce head-less cocking piece and reverse safety.
