5" barrel in .45 ACP caliber. Manufactured in 1944, Offered is a typical standard U.S. issue Colt 1911-A1 .45 semi-automatic pistol. Left side of the frame has the "G.H.D." for inspector Guy Dewey. Right side of frame has "U.S. Army Property" stamped. The two tone heat treating finish still visible on front but the pony is somewhat washed out as is Ordnance wheel on right side of frame. Aside from the drag line, the pistol maintains 95% of arsenal phosphate finish. Has all checkered small parts, proper brown Keyes style grips (no "K"). Has a fine bore, barrel is blued, left lug is stamped "P", bottom of barrel is stamped "Colt .45 Auto". Replacement magazine is stamped "CR". Come with a period U.S. marked shoulder holster. Stamped "Kress".
