.50 bore percussion. This is a very early re-production Sharps made at the Farmingdale NY location which many consider the most accurately manufactured Sharps rifles of the modern era. This rifle recreates, almost to minute detail, an 1863 Civil War Sharps production rifle. Features full round barrel with browned finish, full length walnut forend, post front sight with Sharps military rear sight. Barrel does not have bayonet lug. Right side of frame is stamped "Farmingdale New York - Shiloh New Model 1863". The receiver is also darkened so it looks like an original specimen. Has walnut stock with patchbox and carbine style buttplate, single trigger, and sling swivel with an old military Springfield double frog sling. Strong clean bore and perfect action. This rifle has been beautifully aged to be virtually indistinguishable from an original Sharps. Perfect for the reenactor.
