This lot consists of two pieces of pottery. The first piece is a small drinking cup with a town scene around it. This scene consists a horse-drawn carriage with a man tending to the horses with passengers. Next to the Ye Olde Ship store there are more townsfolk going about their business. This scene appears to be pressed onto the piece of pottery, as seams are visible with repeating sections. On the base of the piece is a faded green stamp with a crown that also says “LANCASTER LTD HANLEY ENGLAND”. The cup is approximately 3-1/4 x 3-1/8 inches. This piece is covered in crazing, however it is not felt through the glaze. The interior of the cup has the most visible crazing. The interior is stained, made visible from the crazing. There are also long dark lines visible vertically and one thick one going horizontally along the top of the cup. Along the seams of the design, there are some chips as well as other places on the scene. The base of the cup also has crazing along with some places that are glaze deficient. The second piece is a small blue vase with a blue glaze body. Three black feathered birds with white stomachs are perched on a branch with a flower at the end of it, in the center of the vase. On the base of the vase, it’s signed “P. Bastau Paris” in black with a black duck between the name and the city. The vase is approximately 5 inches tall. Overall this piece is in good condition, however under and around the trio of birds is some discoloration. At the base, there is some wear on the foot of the vase where there is no glaze. There is also a dark blueish black spot towards the base near the foot. The blue coloration also varies.
