26" barrel in .40-72 caliber. Although this rifle was manufactured in 1899, The barrel is stamped with the "PW" which would indicate this rifle was returned to the factory sometime after 1905. there is no "PW" on frame. Features full octagon barrel, original sporting front and rear sights, blued finish, walnut stocks, and rifle butt. Barrel retains approximately 80-85% factory blue finish with razor sharp edges. The frame, lever, and magazine are a soft smooth brown patina. Flashes of blue on bolt. Buttstock is flush with tang and in excellent condition which would indicate it was probably freshened at one time. Forend is proud to metal with the ebony inset with a 1/2" light grain separation on right side. Fine action. Strong, clean, rifled bore. These .40 caliber octagon barrel Model 95s are extremely desirable and the octagon barrel makes for a handsome profile on this model.
