.44 caliber with a 25-5/8" smooth bore octagonal barrel with patent breech. Dovetailed front blade sight and sophisticated tube peep sight behind the barrel tang which can be adjusted for elevation. Beveled lock converted to percussion. German silver ramrod ferrules, two piece sideplate and a partial buttplate, horn nose cap and ramrod tip. Carved burlwood trigger guard and 5/8” thick butt pad is carved with repeating fleur de lis pattern and incise-carved checkered clover on bow and has a pineapple finial. Full-length walnut stock with incise-carved forend displaying a large clover en suite with trigger guard and decorated with silver pins. Wrist is also checkered and decorated with silver pins, relief rococo carving terminating in a flower around barrel tang. Large cheek piece on reverse side of stock is carved with relief floral design towards butt. Iron sling swivel on forend and large sling-screw behind trigger guard. Very good condition overall, all metal with even dark grey patina.
