Manufactured in 1882. 12 bore, 30” Damascus steel barrels, 2-1/2” chambers with solid matte rib marked “PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. TWIST” and has single silver bead. Both barrels have cylinder choke. Casehardened action marked “PARKER BROS” on both sides, double triggers. Walnut pistol grip buttstock with checkered grip with maker’s rubber cap and small vacant German silver shield escutcheon on top of wrist, steel butt plate. LOP is 14” from front trigger to end of butt. Checkered splinter forend with Deeley release stamped with patent dates, steel end cap. Accompanied by a Parker factory letter, which states that the gun was ordered by John Meunier of Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1882 for a price of $55.00. Letter confirms that it was shipped as a Quality T, top action hammer gun with 30” plain twist barrels, with a capped pistol grip, 14-1/4” inch pull, and full chokes. Very Good condition, barrels retaining about 60% of visible Damascus, left barrel has three dents towards muzzle, wear at muzzles and breeches. Action with case colors mostly turned silver, traces of colors visible in protected areas. Stocks good with scattered marks from use and heavy wear to checkering. This is a fine example of an early Parker hammer gun.
